We do! We have a small boutique and stock most sizes. If we are out we can size you with our sizing kit and usually can get them in within 7-10 business days. If you don’t see something we can also try to bring it in for you.
Because this is the first drop off class for most dancers we are not flexible. Dancers must turn 2.5 within the first 2 weeks of the class starting. After years of working with this age group we find that 2.5 is the “Magic Age” that most young dancers are able to work through the initial anxiety of their first drop off class. There are always a few tears the first class (if not from your child, then from another) and before 2.5 those tears will quickly spread and it’s hard to move past them. If your dancer is younger than 2.5 we encourage you to take a Mommy and Me Ballet or Hip Hop/Jazz class with your dancer and try Princess Ballet or Tot Hop next session!
Yes! Princess Ballet and Tot Hop are drop off classes! We wave goodbye to all the grown ups at the door and get to dance all by ourselves. We highly recommend arriving early to the first day of class to give your child time to say goodbye as you will not be allowed to enter the classroom.
Non-Recital classes are session based classes that have a small performance for just their class on the Starland stage at the end of the session.
Recital classes are year-long classes (September-June). They also have small performances at the end of the Fall and Winters sessions, PLUS they perform along with our other recital classes and dance company at our Spring Recital at the Genesee Theatre in Waukegan IL. For the 2016/2017 the recital will be held on June 3rd.
Dance Company is an audition based program (auditions are held in Late Spring) and our various companies perform and compete in the Chicagoland area. For more information please visit http://starlandkids.com/starland-dance-company/
